One: Denzel

Equalizer 3 is out this week, and I’m looking forward to seeing it for a few reasons. First, it was filmed on the coast of Italy when I was staying there last year. We tried to find Denzel but only heard stories from locals about their meet-ups with the famous actor. (Side note – I missed him in Boston when he was filming Equalizer 2 near where I worked.) Second, there is something about Denzel and his performances that keeps me watching his movies. He was nominated for nine Academy Awards and won two for his performances in Glory and Training Day. He was nominated for nine Golden Globe awards and won three, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award in 2016.

I was introduced to Denzel in the ’80s in St. Elsewhere (stream on Hulu). I love a medical drama series. He is good in drama, and he is good in action movies. Philadelphia, Flight, Courage Under Fire, Safe House, Unstoppable, and Man on Fire, to name a few of the 61 films he’s been in. I will continue to watch him give dramatic performances and fight bad guys. One of my favorite underrated Denzel movies is Deja Vu (on Hulu).
