Taylor Swift is not the problem. To explain why she’s been trending so much, I will look at what has happened with her this past year and beyond. The two reasons you’ve seen a lot about Taylor this past year are stories about her love life and her Eras Tour.

I’ve been a fan of her music for a long time. I’m not a Swiftie, but I’m impressed with Taylor’s music, 2023 Eras tour, and sense of style.

Taylor’s Love Life

I will quickly cover the buzz around Taylor’s love interests and crushes. One of the downfalls of being famous and having a dedicated fan base is having your dating history splashed across headlines and judged by many people; this is true for Taylor Swift. The Swifties get upset if they don’t like one of Taylor’s love interests. This past summer, she briefly dated Matty Healy, causing her fans to question her choice in beaus. I can’t imagine having the same scrutiny of my past dating choices; it would not be pretty! She’s young, attractive, and successful. Let her have fun dating; I don’t particularly appreciate it when people judge someone’s love life.

Her most recent crush (friend, boyfriend?), causing a stir among her fans and NFL fans, is Travis Kelce, a tight end who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. He expressed his interest first while attending her concert at Arrowhead Stadium. “ICYMI: Travis said he invited Taylor to his game on the Pat McAffee show on September 21, 2023. “I threw the ball into her court and said, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead; you might have to see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one is a little more lit,’” Travis said on the broadcast.” 

Taylor has attended three Kansas City games, one in New York with some of her famous friends.

Despite the public spectacle, a source recently told PEOPLE that the two are “still just getting to know each other.”

“He is a charming guy. It’s more of a hanging out situation than dating,” the insider says, noting that during the NFL season, Kelce’s priority “is the Chiefs, and it’s all about the team.”

He is an interesting guy, if you’d like to know more about him and his brother who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, there is a documentary on Prime Video.  ‘Kelce,’ the sports documentary about the Chiefs star and his All-Pro brother Jason leading up to the two facing off in Super Bowl LVII. They also have a podcast, New Heights.

Taylor’s Music

Taylor has been writing and performing songs starting at age 14. Her songs are about love, heartbreak, and all the feelings. These songs are great for sing-a-longs with friends or belting out while driving, cleaning, etc. There is a Taylor Swift song for every mood: songs for when you’re in love, feeling happy, when you’re sad, broken-hearted, or when you’re angry. I listened to You Need to Calm Calm Down a lot during 2020. 

Her first genre was country, her first album was titled Taylor Swift. From Wikipedia, “Swift is credited as a writer on all 11 of the album’s tracks. Drawing on her personal life, the songs reflect Swift’s outlook on life as a teenager, dealing with romantic relationships, friendships, and insecurity. Taylor Swift is a country record with pop and pop rock elements, incorporating acoustic instruments such as guitars, banjos, and fiddles.”

She’s been rerecording some albums. From Vox, Why Taylor Swift is rerecording all her old songs. Her next release will be on October 27th. 1989 (Taylor’s Version), a rerecording of her 2014 album.

You don’t have to be a Swiftie to appreciate her music.

The buzz about Taylor’s tour started when the sales of her show crashed Ticketmaster. From The New York Times, Ticketmaster Cancels Sale of Taylor Swift Tickets After Snags. Frustrated fans tried unsuccessfully for hours to buy tickets.

Some lucky Swifties and fans of Taylor’s music who could buy tickets have united this year to attend Taylor’s shows in record numbers.

Celebrities and fans danced, sang along to her songs, and exchanged friendship bracelets while attending her concert. I did not attend her show, but I’ve seen some footage of her flawless performances and impressive costume changes.

Starting today, fans can watch her show in a movie theater. Taylor’s Sense of Style

The buzz about Taylor’s attendance at the Chief’s football games is not limited to who she’s cheering on and mingling with; fans are obsessed with the outfits she’s been wearing.

For the September 24th game she worn denim shorts, a white top, a Chiefs jacket, and New Balance sneakers.
