One: 2024 Golden Globe Awards
The Golden Globe awards will air on Sunday January 7th on CBS. The host is comedian Jo Koy.
Award season begins this weekend with the airing of the Golden Globes. The Emmy Awards were rescheduled due to the strikes and will air on January 15th. The Academy Awards will air on March 10th.
The award shows have had many issues over the years, snubbing actors and movies, diversity issues, and problematic hosts, to name a few. Problems or not, I enjoy watching these shows. I try to keep up with nominated films and series and watch them before the show. This year, I’ve only seen a few of the nominated movies.
I also like seeing what everyone is wearing, I enjoy emotional speeches, and I like routing for my favorites.

Two: What to Watch
Netflix:
Read: January new releases from Tulum and from Vulture.

Good Grief (drama film), An artist grieving the loss of his famous writer husband takes his two best friends on a trip to Paris, where they unpack messy secrets and hard truths.
Fool Me Once (thriller series), When ex-soldier Maya sees her murdered husband on a secret nanny cam, she uncovers a deadly conspiracy that stretches deep into the past. Based on the novel by Harlan Coben.

The Brothers Sun (series), When a mysterious enemy targets his family, a Taipei triad member heads to Los Angeles to protect his strong-willed mother and oblivious younger brother.
Bitconned (documentary), Ray Trapani had always wanted to be a criminal, even as a young boy. In 2017, amidst the economic frenzy of the Bitcoin boom, there was no better place for scammers than cryptocurrency. So when Ray’s friend approached him with the idea of creating a debit card for crypto, Trapani jumped at the chance. There was only one problem: He had no idea how to do that. But thanks to fake LinkedIn profiles, paid celebrity endorsements, and the online community’s insatiable desire to “get rich quick,” Centra Tech was soon raking in millions of dollars a day. Was it real? No. But did it work? Maybe. In this fast-paced, debaucherous documentary from director Bryan Storkel (producer of The Legend of Cocaine Island and director of The Pez Outlaw), Ray himself guides viewers through the ups and downs of his dramatic journey, alongside his family, former friends, and the journalist who exposed Centra Tech as the first high-profile fraud case of the crypto era.
You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment (documentary), Identical twins change their diets and lifestyles for eight weeks in a unique scientific experiment designed to explore how certain foods impact the body.

Daughters of the Cult (documentary), concerns the family and followers of Ervil LeBaron, a radical religious fundamentalist and polygamist who more than lived up to his “Mormon Manson” nickname. Here, a group of LeBaron siblings speak out about their upbringing, being on the run from the FBI, their perspectives on sister wife practices, and being brainwashed from birth to believe in and follow their father/cult leader.
