When I say winter blues, I’m not talking about your denim collection, I’m talking about those depressing thoughts and feelings that pop up during the winter months. If you live in certain parts of the US, you might be dealing with grey skies, days of rain or snow, and early sunsets. This type of weather can be depressing.
Here are some ways to break out of the blues:
Changing up your outfits
Try a new trend using the clothes you already own.
Trend one: Mob wife
The newest trend taking over TikTok is Mob Wife. I find it funny, but I also like it. Maybe because my dad’s side of the family is Italian, and my grandmother wore this trend without being a mob wife. You could also call this trend ’80s and ’90s Italian.

This NPR article, The ‘mob wife’ aesthetic is in. But what about the vintage fur that comes with it?
Another reason I like this trend, I have some faux fur coats.

As with any trend, wear it if you love it. You will know if it’s a good fit if you have clothes in your closet that work for the trend.

Get cozy at home:
Have you tried Hygge yet? From Visit Denmark, “In essence, hygge means creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people. The warm glow of candlelight is hygge. Cosying up with a loved one for a movie – that’s hygge, too. And there’s nothing more hygge than sitting around with friends and family, discussing the big and small things in life. Perhaps hygge explains why the Danes are some of the happiest people in the world.“
Embrace the cold, rainy or snowy days by curling up in your favorite chair to read a book, or watch some comfort shows.
