My Tuesday trend day topic was inspired by my mini vacation at Long Beach Island NJ. There is a large Ron Jon shop located at the end of route 72. For research purposes only, I went shopping there today with my family.
This store holds the world’s largest surf board as well as plenty of surfer style clothing and accessories. On the top floor you can buy the surf tools such as surfboards, wake boards, etc.
I had fun shopping this trend. Maybe because I was on vacation or because it is summertime but I felt that I could wear some of these pieces.
This is the store layout, three floors full of merchandise.
Plenty of graphic tees for men and women.
Board shorts for men and women.
Plus they sell lots of other fun surf themed products from ukuleles to hula dolls.
I purchased a t-shirt, board shorts, and a green army type jacket. My cousin Russell purchased board shorts. We took our new outfits to the beach once the rain cleared.
Russell is wearing his new Hurley board shorts, shirt from H & M, flips from North Face, and a Jack Spade carrier bag.
I am wearing my new top and board shorts from Ron Jon, flips from Havana, watch from Coach, and my bag is Lacoste.
My bracelets are a combination from Haute Look, a small store in Paris, and one from B and B department stores (our second shopping stop). I also purchased my sunglasses at B and B.
This trend began a long time ago when surfing became a popular sport. The styles have evolved a little over the years but many of the brands and styles have not changed.
Here are some pictures from B and B:
