“Happy: smile. Sad: frown. Use the corresponding face for the corresponding emotion.” ― Meg Ryan as Kate in French Kiss

One: The Rom-Com

French Kiss

Love is in the air. Valentine’s Day is a few days away. In honor of this mushy holiday, I’m going to write about rom-coms.

What is a rom-com? The short answer is a movie that has romance and comedy. There is a distinctive formula for many rom-com movies. Similar to the cheesy holiday movies I wrote about in December. The rom-com formula can include a meet-cute, hate/disgust turned to love, a clumsy character, love in a major city, love on vacation, a love triangle, obstacles to love, misunderstandings, cheating partners, mismatched partners, heartstring-tugging speech, a profession of love, running through the airport, a kiss in the snow, rain, etc., a makeover, and fabulous outfits. These movies provide us with iconic moments and quotable lines.

While creating this post, I realized there are too many rom-coms to write about. I made some categories and added quite a few movies to those groups, but I needed more time. So, I will update this post and create new posts to continue my lists. Expect finished posts by Valentine’s Day.

Here is the first part of my rom-com series: https://lifestyleofafashionista.com/2023/02/10/the-rom-com-part-1/

My interest in sweater pants started after I read this article about Jennifer Aniston’s tree-shopping outfit, Jennifer Aniston Wore a Pair of Cozy Sweater Pants While Christmas Tree Shopping. “For the holiday excursion, Aniston went monochrome with a pair of simple, gray sweater pants and a long gray coat, a perfect match for hugging trees and lounging in cars.

I found this pair and the Gap, and I love them!
