Saturday Street Style: Art in Boston

When: August 31, 2013

Where: Museum of Fine Arts and the Arts Festival in the Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park

This past Saturday I took my friend Diana and cousin Alyssa to the Museum of Fine Arts. Neither of them had visited this museum. I love this museum but definitely do not visit it enough. I wanted to check out the Hippie Chic exhibition.

When we arrived we had lunch at the New American Café. I had delicious mushroom quesadillas and a glass of chardonnay.

I’m wearing a Green Dragon dress purchased at Crush boutique with a MARC by Marc Jacobs bag.

After lunch we walked around the Art of the Americas. I always enjoy walking through this section. There are paintings by Copley, Sargent, and silver pieces created by Paul Revere.

We moved into the Art of Europe section to look at work done by some of my favorite artists, Monet, Degas, and Van Gogh.

On our way to the Hippie Chic exhibition we walked through a moving exhibit titled She Who Tells a Story: Women Photographers from Iran and the Arab world.

Lastly we walked around the Hippie Chic exhibition. I enjoyed looking at the fashion from that time period.

On our way out of course we stopped at the gift shop where I purchased a planner filled with impressionism art.

Once we returned to the north end we decided to check out the Boston Arts Festival. http://www.cityofboston.gov/arts/arts_festival.asp

(ähts): The Boston Arts Festival features the best of the Boston Arts Scene – both visual and performance. The 2013 festival is Saturday, August 31st and Sunday September 1st from 12-8PM. The festival features over 60 juried artists from Boston and a performance program on two stages showcasing Boston’s best performing arts groups and performers.

  1. I really need to go to the MFA. I’ve only been once. The hippy clothes is such a fun exhibit! Love all the places you went for drinks too!
