“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.” —F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
Summer officially arrived on June 21st. The summer season brings warmer temps, longer days, outdoor events, travel, and family fun.
When planning your summer activities, plan on creating some trendy outfits.
Summer Activities, My top ten list:
One: Go to the beach or pool
“Sweet, sweet burn of sun and summer wind, and you my friend, my new fun thing, my summer fling.” —K.D. Lang
I love going to the beach. My family and I would go to the Jersey Shore almost every summer. We still visit some of the shores of Jersey or Florida as often as we can.
Two: Enjoy some ice cream and other frozen treats
“Without ice cream, there would be darkness and chaos.” — Don Kardong
Three: Attend Evening Outdoor Events; including watching fireworks and outdoor Movies
“The summer night is like a perfection of thought.” —Wallace Stevens
There are many outdoor evening activities to check out during the summer, from Shakespeare in the Park to Outdoor movie events.
Break out the sparklers on the Fourth of July and find some local fireworks to watch.
Four: Attend Daytime Outdoor Events; including fairs, art walks, shopping, etc
Five: Enjoy Outdoor Dining and Grilling
“The grill is the summer equivalent of a fireplace; everyone gravitates to it.” —Katie Lee
Six: Go for a bike ride
I’m part of an active family; we run together on holidays and go for bike rides together during the summers.
Seven: Visit a local park or garden
“Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass on a summer day listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is hardly a waste of time.” —John Lubbock
Seven: Play Outside
“Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August.” —Jenny Han, The Summer I Turned Pretty
Get the family together to play games on the beach, in your yard, or at the local park.
Eight: Evening walks and watching sunsets
“Never go too long without watching a sunset.” Atticus
Nine: Go on a Boat Ride
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain, 1835–1910, the pen name for Samuel Langhorne Clemens
If you live near the water, take a local ferry ride or book a local boat cruise.
If you’re lucky, you might have a friend or family member with a boat:
We said goodbye to the MollyBelle this year, but we have many fun trips to remember.

“The good old fashioned white tank top is having a moment right now as more than just a layering piece. The wardrobe basic is all over TikTok and, lucky for everyone, is incredibly easy to pull off.
